Many sustainability or “green” teams find it hard to keep the momentum going with implementing sustainability.  That’s often because they have to do their current job and be part of the green team.  It’s hard to do all the research necessary to make it happen and they need a helping hand.  We can help with a variety of support interventions.  One of the most useful is for us to be there to help with questions and advice.

Getting advice from peers is important too and we can provide a platform for networking where the team interacts with other teams from other organisations.   It’s great when the support comes from within you own organisation and again we can help raise awareness around sustainability.

We believe that experiential learning is important and we encourage hands on experience that leads to continual professional development and networking for sustainability teams.  So we host a variety of events to encourage networking, sharing, learning and to showcase solutions and projects. Come join us, meet people in the industry and share your knowledge.

Green Champion Breakfasts

icologie has teamed up with Accelerate Cape Town and KPMG to host quarterly breakfasts with a focus on sustainability.  These events are aimed at members of Accelerate Cape Town and large corporates that have a vision of sustainable, inclusive growth in the Cape Town region.  Click on the events in the calendar for additional details on upcoming events, or feedback from previous events.

Field Trips

Field trips provide an opportunity for continuous learning and interactive networking with a focus on local examples of environmentally good practice.  Each field trip has a specific focus such as waste, water, energy or biodynamic farming.  Click on the events in the calendar for additional details on upcoming events, or feedback from previous events.

Lunch Hour Talks

The field trips and breakfasts are very popular, although many people have indicated that they don’t always have the time to be out of office for a whole morning.  In an attempt to address this icologie has partnered up with Intaka Island to present lunch hour talks.  These short talks focus on specific topics relating to sustainable development and provide a brief introduction and opportunity for networking.  These talks focus on the businesses in Century City, but are open to any interested parties.  Please register online if you would like to attend.

Awareness Films & Talks

This group is here to share lots of great information and ideas about how to change our world for the better.  We examine and discuss social, environmental challenges and solutions affecting all the creatures who share this planet.  The format is to have a guest film and/or speaker and interactive discussion mixed with food and drink.  Just the sort of creative mind candy we need to drive positive action.  This is open to anyone to contribute and help share and drive change.
