Andy is one of the founders icologie, a South African company that drives sustainability awareness, inspiration, behaviour change, solutions and support. We are working with many layers of society including civil, business, schools, universities & local and central government to promote understanding, empathy and change.

He has travelled and worked extensively around Africa and Asia promoting cultural immersion, empathy and personal development through running teams of voluteers working in Sri Lanka after the Tsunami, organising NGO’s to put on a childrens festivals in a war torn areas, to encouraging participation through the creation of short films promoting volunteering on social & environmental community projects… more
Andrew Bennett

Andrew is a born teacher with a strong calm presence that is well suited to facilitating the complex challenges of sustainability. With over 20 years of professional experience in areas such as mentoring, counseling, presenting, teaching, lecturing, sports coaching, writing and business training, Andrew regards continuous learning and responsibility as the keys to personal and organisational development and for us all to live life fully, peacefully and more sustainably.
Cape Town born-and-bred, Andrew was educated at Wet Pups, Rondebosch Boys’ High and UCT. At university he majored in Environmental & Geographical Science, Psychology and English. Starting out Andrew enjoyed a fun-filled High School teaching career, enthusiastically teaching Geography and a bit of English, while passionately coaching Cricket and Rugby at 1st team level. He then left teaching in search of greater challenges and joined Woolworths taking on positions as a customer relations manager and Good Business Journey Champion. Andrew left Woolies and co-founded icologie to continue his passion for making a greater difference in the World.
At icologie Andrew leads the service area of coaching, learning & development for business sustainability. His particular creative talents lie in the design and implementation of enjoyable but meaningful transformational programmes in organisations undertaking their journey to sustainability.
Andrew is close to his family and is the proud dad to a busy and bouncy young son. He has a wide range of interests from the arts (fine art especially) and cooking to most outdoor sports activities especially involving mountains and the sea. For many years he was involved with local league cricket in Cape Town – now retired he plays a bit of golf, and swims.
